Up to 96% Heat Recovery for Autothermal Operation
Krantz RTO systems are built around ceramic heat regenerators that recover and retain up to 96% of the thermal energy within the system. By reversing the airflow between hot clean gas and cooler exhaust air, these systems can operate autothermally at VOC concentrations of just 1.5 g/Nm³, reducing or even eliminating the need for additional energy input from fuels or electricity.
Energy Reuse with Heat Extraction
When inlet VOC concentrations are higher, the excess heat can be harvested and reused for generating process heat, significantly improving the overall thermal efficiency of plant operations.
We offer flexible configurations—2-chamber, 3-chamber, and multi-chamber setups—to match varying industrial needs and emission levels.

Krantz’s SmartRTO series offers compact, pre-assembled systems ideal for fast-track projects and retrofits. Available in capacities of 5,000 to 20,000 m³/h, these systems are delivered ready-to-operate—simply unload, connect, and start purifying.
Configurations include:
• 2-chamber units (with or without buffer)
• 3-chamber systems for broader VOC range handling
Another innovation is the combination of the smartRTO technology with electrical heating. This enables customers to implement fully electrified exhaust air treatment in a fast and efficient manner.
